Overview

StreetInfo provides quality street-level detail, using TIGER 2004 Second Edition data created by the U.S. Census Bureau. MapInfo has cleaned and corrected incomplete data records and has added information for a more complete mapping analysis. StreetInfo is dramatically easy to use, which allows users to quickly customize display styles and labels in just a few easy steps. With a clean, up-to-date address dictionary in StreetInfo EAL, users are assured of a higher geocoding hit rate when geocoding with MapInfo Professional and more accurate map output.

StreetInfo is available in two forms: EAL and Display. StreetInfo EAL includes 23 layers, including an addressed street segment layer. There are more than 13.4 million addressed street segments for better accuracy. The EAL version is suitable for geocoding with MapInfo Professional. StreetInfo Display includes 21 layers of information, minus only the addressed street segment layer and the geocoding boundaries layer found in StreetInfo EAL. Ideally StreetInfo Display should be bundled with MapMarker for comprehensive streets display.

Features

  • StreetInfo contains 23 layers of comprehensive information including streets, highways, area landmarks, 3 point landmark layers, highway shields, school districts, water features, and new Urban Area Boundaries.
  • StreetInfo is derived from U.S. Census Bureau’s TIGER 2004 Second Edition data and reference information.
  • StreetInfo contains statewide seamless maps so users can display all of the county layers for an entire state at once.
  • Display Templates: Gives customers the ability to open StreetInfo using a variety of templates depicting different display styles. Using the Autoloader, users can choose from one of these templates to open StreetInfo layers with an attractive map display. Users save time since they do not have to start from scratch to create eye-pleasing maps. Using MapInfo Professional, users can then edit the display characteristics as needed. To view bitmap samples of the style templates, please go to the PDD under StreetPro>USA>Screenshots. These display templates are the same as StreetPro.
  • Map Definition Files: XML-based text files that contain map layer information. They are created using the Map Definition Manager that ships with MapXtreme Java Edition. It helps the MapXtreme Java user get a quick start out of the box.
  • MapInfo Seamless Builder: MapBasic tool that quickly and flexibly builds seamless maps for the whole U.S. or any other user, defined coverage area.
  • Autoloader: allows users to effortlessly manage numerous layers of street data by easily opening multiple files and layers at the same time and using a variety of display templates. This enables you to begin developing maps and analyzing your data quickly.
  • Highway Shield Manager: exclusive to MapInfo street products, this utility allows users to customize and display highway shields over any route, highway, or interstate. Users have the ability to create their own shield layers, edit and move shields, and change aspects of the display such as color, size, font and settings. MapInfo shields use true type fonts for a crisper presentation.
  • SIFTER: exclusive to MapInfo street products, the SIFTER gives users the ability to easily extract information based on the CFCC code. The SIFTER uses descriptive terms for developing queries rather than cryptic CFCC codes, and allows the user to save the information to a new table.
