Overview

Maponics Neighborhoods™ is a neighborhood map polygon database revolutionizing the way businesses conduct targeted marketing. For the first time GIS firms, mapping companies, and other businesses performing geographic analysis can incorporate neighborhood boundaries into their own maps and services at a reasonable cost.

Why Neighborhoods?

Socially and culturally, people think of city geography in terms of neighborhoods. Until now, the lack of affordable and accurate neighborhood map data has forced local search and mapping to use city name or ZIP Code™. For major cities, this has meant poorly targeted results spanning too broad or granular a geographic area. The result has been unsatisfied users and lost revenue. By offering the opportunity to search by neighborhood, websites are now able to provide more intuitive, relevant results.

Product Description

Covering hundreds of the top US cities, the Maponics Neighborhood Boundaries database includes all latitude and longitude coordinates for each neighborhood polygon. Unique features include:

  • Hand-drawn polygons, not aggregations of ZIP Codes or Census Tracts
  • Validated by over 1000 real estate agents
  • Continuous data maintenance
  • Ongoing addition of new cities
  • Many auxiliary tables available, relating neighborhoods to ZIP Codes, school districts, and more

The result is far more accurate and much less work than compiling this data in-house.

Markets/Applications

  • real estate firms tag properties with neighborhoods, the way buyers and sellers actually search
  • neighborhood analytics and predictive modeling for finding the “best” neighborhoods
  • mobile searches for retail and restaurant locations
  • market studies on consumer behavior by neighborhood, rather than ZIP Code or Tract
  • richer cartography in printed maps
